Temitayo Ogunlusi is a self taught fashion designer and the creative brain behind the Tiyani By Tayo brand. Tayo’s journey to becoming a designer started from making handmade bags and fashion accessories from African fabrics for friends and family. Every piece she made was a delight for the lucky recipients.

After so much experimenting and perfecting her craft over the years, Tiyani By Tayo is here to share the beauty of African fabrics with the world. Our bags are made in partnership with women-owned businesses and local artisans in Ibadan, Nigeria. We support small businesses and provide them with an opportunity for growth.

The name Tiyani is of African origin and it means Strength and Resilience in Bantu(South Africa). Tiyani’s goal is to make apparels that speak to these attributes, inspiring individuals to be classy, bold and strong.

Our bags are 100% handmade using high quality African themed fabrics that have bold batiks and vibrant colors in combination with other materials like leather or canvas. We are unique because our apparels are not mass produced, hence, making every Tiyani owner standout from the crowd.
